To Swim or Not to Swim, Well I guess There is No Question.
Living in Florida is so great with the sunshine, beaches, & backyard pools, but this is also why it is so dangerous for a child. You literally are almost always somewhere that has some sort of body of water around it. Which is why I have been tackling the question of when should I enroll my 18 month old son in swim class. I must say that yes, I am terrified of seeing him being allowed to go under water, but I am even more terrified of him not knowing how to swim. I have been thinking about this since he was 10 months old, but my fear is what has stopped me from enrolling him. Recently, we have been invited to numerous swim dates, but I have to decline them all because I refuse to put him into this sort of situation when I do not even know what to do if something were to happen. So when I ask the question to learn or not to learn, then I must answer this myself by saying There is no question. He must learn how to swim and there is no better time to start than right Now! I have found a school and I decided that he will be enrolled in the begining of May for swim lessons, and I will go get recertified in CPR. You can never be too safe, especially when your children are involved.
